[Readings: 1) Father’s Autobiography “As a Peace-Loving Global Citizen,”: Chapter 8.2: “Embrace the World.” 2) Divine Principle, Part II, Restoration 2.2.5(iv) ; and Part I, Creation 5.2.2, 5.2.3 “The Realm of Indirect Dominion/Direct Dominion” ]

As we read Father’s autobiography, we see that he is encouraging us to dream big, to set our sights on a life of high dimension, not to settle for a good salary, safe life and comfortable retirement, but to go beyond this, and solve real problems in the real world. Father cites many examples of problems of distribution, where one region of the world has an abundance of some resource, while another region suffers from a severe shortage of the same resource. Electrical generation, raw materials, water, arable land, are all unevenly distributed. Other problems include religious conflicts, poverty, lack of education, etc. Can we set our goals high enough to reach this level?

What makes a hero? Sometimes, it is simply being in the right place at the right time. While we may not consider ourselves heroes, if we see an accident and someone is hurt, we are likely to try and help, even going beyond an ordinary level of effort or heart. So Father would challenge us to place ourselves in circumstances which might more easily lend themselves to such a risk – to living an adventurous life.

Then what is my adventure, my risk, my life of high dimension? To answer this question, let’s look at the Divine Principle section on the division of the ages according to the portion of responsibility, in Restoration 2.2.5(iv). It says there that after God took the first responsibility to make Satan surrender in the age before Jesus, and after Jesus and the Holy Spirit took the second responsibility in the New Testament Age to make Satan surrender, the believers must take the third and final responsibility to make Satan surrender in the age after the Second Advent of the Messiah. That’s us. After all, we human beings gave over our freedom to Satan at the Fall, so it is finally up to us to claim it back. We must bring Satan to surrender; we must subjugate Satan. Only then can we stand unencumbered in the presence of God and dwell with God in the Kingdom of Heaven, or Chun Il Guk. We must stand as fully restored men and women in front of God – high noon, no shadow.

But did True Father give us the tools to do this – do we have enough power to do this? In other words, did True Father fulfill his mission as the Messiah?

If we hire a plumber to come in and fix our sink, and then the sink is still broken after he leaves, we can say that the plumber failed his responsibility, that he is a bad plumber. Is True Father a bad messiah? Did he fix what he came to fix? Did True Father, as the Savior, save fallen man? Are we saved, or do we still need the Messiah? Do we still need True Father?

As shocking as it may be to some believers, the answer is “no”, we do not need True Father now. If we say we do need him, we are in essence saying that he failed his mission as the Messiah, that he still has more to fix before we can truly stand as divine sons and daughters in front of God. We cannot have it both ways: we cannot say that we still need True Father, but that he fulfilled his mission as the Messiah, and there is nothing more for him to fix. Ironically, True Father himself said this many times: “You don’t need me anymore! You have everything you need to be successful now! Do you still want me to hang around, or can I take a rest?” Of course, when confronted like this by Father, we members would say: “No, no, Father! Take a rest!” but when push came to shove, we are still depending on Father, clinging to him, saying: “Don’t go! Speak longer! We still need you!” Doesn’t it sound arrogant and heretical for me to say: “I don’t need True Father anymore. He has given me everything I need to do my mission…?” And yet, that is exactly what both True Father and the Principle say, that we don’t need True Father anymore.

Especially now, in the “Age after the Coming of Heaven” or “Chun Il Guk,” as we have left the Completed Testament Age, we are no longer in the Age of Attendance, no longer in the indirect dominion. Providentially, we have entered the direct dominion. Are we ready to claim it? Are we ready to say: “I don’t need True Father anymore. I can stand as God’s son or daughter, with God dwelling in my heart as my Heavenly Parent. I report to God in my own name now. Thank you, Father, now you can rest. You did a great job. Now it’s up to me. Now it’s the age of the believer’s responsibility.” Are you ready? Are we ready?

And what is that responsibility? Home Church – Tribal Messiahship. Through loving and saving 430 families, the way that True Father did for us, even to the extent of matching and blessing, I fulfill my responsibility; I bring Satan to voluntary surrender. After loving and living for so many people, Satan comes to me and says: “Can I join your church, too? You have shown that your love is like True Father’s love; you have shown that you are qualified to rule over me like True Father did, can I join?” And my wife and I will say: “Yes, we are happy to have you – please come in. Please stay here in our love, in your original position as the archangel of goodness. We are happy to have you.” And that is the end of restoration history.

That is why True Father left when he did. I think he knew that we would not stand up and fulfill our responsibility as long as he was here, and so he left. He doesn’t want us to follow him anymore. He wants us to become him. Are we ready? Are you ready? Scary, isn’t it? – becoming a messiah. But there is nothing to fear – listen to the still, small voice in your heart that is the sound of God’s heart, resonating within you. As the Divine Principle says: “In the realm of God’s direct dominion, people will intensely experience God’s Heart within themselves. Hence, they will know His Will and carry it out in their actions. Just as every part of the body spontaneously moves in response to the subtle directions of the mind, people will spontaneously carry out the Will of God in accord with the deeply felt intentions of His Heart. In this state of perfect resonance, the purpose of creation is realized.”

And that is my adventure, my life of high dimension, my risk. My wife and I must become a messiah, just as True Father and Mother did for us. We must reach out to and save 430 families; thus truly becoming a Blessed Central Family, a Tribal Messiah, and earning the right and privilege to report to God in our own names. In a way, we have so much more than True Father did: we have each other. Let’s do it together, side by side!
